About i2Cool Europe
i2COOl is a cleantech company founded in 2021 by professors from the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong. The company develops and commercializes passive radiative cooling technology to be used in coatings and films that cool surfaces and buildings without consuming any electricity. Inspired by the light-reflecting structure of the Saharan silver ant, i2COOl’s proprietary nanomaterials can achieve up to 95% solar reflectivity and 95% mid-infrared emissivity — reflecting sunlight and radiating heat away from the surface. The results are highly significant where it can reduce surface temperature up to 42°C and thereby creating meaningful cuts in cooling energy demand.
